Alumni News Highlights

Four alumni of the journalism school have been recognized with a Pulitzer Prize for their contributions to journalism at their respective newspapers. These four winners are: Andrea Elliott '99, The New York Times, for feature writing; Heidi Evans '84, New York Daily News, for editorial writing; Shai Oster '98, Wall Street Journal team for international reporting; and Mark Maremont '83, Wall Street Journal team for public service. www.pulitzer.org

Columbia Alumni Association

Paris Save the weekend of Sept. 29 for the European launch of the Columbia Alumni Association. Joining President Lee C. Bollinger will be Nobel laureates Orhan Pamuk and Joseph Stiglitz, Earth Institute Director Jeffrey Sachs and Journalism Dean Nicholas Lemann. The day-long symposium will take place on Saturday, Sept. 29 at Le Palais Brogniart (La Bourse), followed by an evening reception at La Grande Galerie de l'Evolution (Museum National d'Histoire Naturelle). Regular admission for alumni and guests will be $150 per person and includes admission to the Saturday daytime symposium and evening gala. Admission for alumni and guests age 28 and under is $75 per person. There will be a reception for Journalism alumni on Friday, Sept. 28.
