Sam Boyle
Sam joined Columbia after spending 33 years with The Associated Press. He was the New York bureau chief for 19 years and oversaw coverage of such stories as the attacks on the World Trade Center, the crash of TWA Flight 800, and Hillary Clinton's successful run for the Senate. During his AP career he also worked as Deputy Sports Editor, an Assistant Business Editor and on the AP's national news desk. He was involved in coverage of such events as elections, Olympics, Super Bowls and Democratic and Republican National Conventions. He has been active in a variety of FOI areas and honored by both the New York City Press Club and the city's Deadline Club for his efforts in this area.
