Marie has worked as a contributing editor to New York magazine, a columnist at The Boston Herald, a staff writer for The New Yorker, and writer-at-large for Vanity Fair, where her article on Jeffrey Wigand became the basis for the movie The Insider. She is the author of four books, including The House of Dreams: The Binghams of Louisville (1998).
