Annette Fuentes

Adjunct Faculty

Annette Fuentes, an adjunct faculty since 1998, has been a reporter, editor and columnist at many New York City publications. She was the health and hospitals reporter at the New York Daily News, an assistant editor for op-eds at New York Newsday, and the Metro editor at the Village Voice. An editorial writer and columnist at El Diario/La Prensa, the city's largest Spanish-language daily newspaper, Fuentes was also the editor of City Limits magazine, a monthly covering housing and community development. She received the Charles H. Revson Fellowship on the Future of New York at Columbia University in 1997, and in 1997, was awarded a Prudential Fellowship on Children and the News. She was awarded a 2002 fellowship in Child and Family Policy from the University of Maryland's School of Journalism. As a freelance journalist, Fuentes writes about health and social policy for such publications as The New York Times, The Nation magazine the Village Voice, The Progressive, and In These Times, where she is a contributing editor. She is co-author with Barbara Ehrenreich of Women in the Global Factory (Boston: South End Press, 1983).
