Betsy West
Visiting Associate Professor
Betsy West recieved her
B.A. from Brown University, and her M.S. in Communications from Syracuse University. Ms. West began her career at ABC News, where she was a field producer at Nightline and World News Tonight and a senior producer at Nightline and PrimeTime Live. She helped create and served as executive producer from
1994-1988 of the documentary series Turning Point, which, among other honors, won two Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Journalism Awards.
From 1998 to 2005, Ms. West was a senior vice president for CBS News, where she oversaw 60 Minutes, 60 Minutes II and 48 Hours. She was the executive in charge of "9/11," winner of the Primetime Emmy Award for Best Documentary. Currently, Betsy West is Development Director for Constantine's Sword, a feature-length documentary film by Oscar-nominee Oren Jacoby.
