Deadline in Depth
Spring 2004
Each week, students enrolled in The Deadline In Depth are sent out on real-life breaking news and feature stories that can take them virtually anywhere in the New York City: ground zero, City Hall, backstage at the Westminster Dog Show, a matzo-ball-eating contest at a midtown deli. Working under deadlines as tight as any they would face in the newsroom, they report, write, and, when necessary, revise their pieces to the same high standards that would be expected of them on the job.
