Health Reporter
WUNC-FM, Chapel Hill, NC
WUNC Radio is looking for an experienced reporter to join our growing
news staff. The reporter will cover health issues and receive assignments
on other topics as needed. The reporter will be expected to participate
in station activities such as fundraising and staff meetings. The
reporter may also be asked to do fill-in hosting for WUNC programs
and contribute spot news and pieces to NPR and other networks. The
top candidates for this job will have superior writing and reporting
skills. We are looking for someone who has a good understanding
of how to tell a story that is engaging and vivid. The reporter
must be able to write and focus stories quickly and meet tight deadlines.
We will consider candidates who do not have radio experience as
long as they have a good ear for sound, a voice with potential for
radio and a demonstrated facility with computers and technology.
WUNC serves a broad geographic area of North Carolina, including
Raleigh-Durham, Greensboro, Greenville and the Outer Banks through
a network of five stations. The station has more than 300,000 weekly
listeners and a news and information staff of 15 full-time employees.

On-Air Host/Reporter

Job Title: WABE On-Air Host/Reporter. Department: Radio. Summary:
This is a professional position primarily serving as a drive-time
radio host and reporter for WABE90.1FM. This position requires solid
experience in hosting and crafting informative reports of local
and state news, as well as experience in producing NPR-style, in-depth,
local feature stories and interviews. Accountabilities: Serves as
